добавете в /etc/X11/xorg.conf, Section "Device" следните редове:

Option "VideoOverlay" "on"
# === OpenGL Overlay ===
Option "OpenGLOverlay" "off"
# Note: When OpenGL Overlay is enabled, Video Overlay
# will be disabled automatically
и рестартирайте графичната среда.
